Similar body and texture to Breakaway Blend 99, color is wildly vibrant. Mouth entry is wondrous and seamless.
The tea is sweet, with no trace of bitterness (this is rare in the matcha world). Clean and harmonious. It's surreally good, better than anything we've ever tasted with the exception of the 99 and 100.
The crema is rich, thick, and delightful. If you've never tasted the 99 or 100, you would swear that matcha couldn't possibly get any tastier. A fantastic bargain given the quality. From Ogura, Uji (Kyoto), Japan's oldest and most distinguished matcha appellation.

I think the 97 blend is the best value. Its taste is well above store-bought quality and with the 100g bag it is reasonably priced.

I am so glad I was able to find this Matcha, I previously would order another famous brand directly from Japan. This is equally as good if not better. It is a part of my morning ritual and am so glad that I tried it. It is smooth, no bitterness, and the most beautifully vibrant color green you could imagine. I am excited to try all the other varieties.

The 97 blend was blissful. It was smooth with no bitterness. The personal touch and acknowledgement from Eric was a plus as well.

I love the 97. It's got an earthy taste to it but it is so smooth. I actually crave the taste of this tea. It is fabulous!!

I emailed Eric to ask him why his product was at least twice as expensive as others I have tried. He gave me a WONDERFUL explanation and when this tea arrived and I tasted it, I fell in love. The difference was just as he had described - that of a fine wine verses a economical alternative. A also love preparing my matcha as described in his video - it makes my enjoyment of my tea break all the more special. Don't waste your time or money on other products - this IS the BEST!

The 97 Blend is the first quality matcha I have experienced. Wow, what a difference! The 97 Blend is incredible! The 97 Blend tastes smooth, clean and fresh, perhaps in an appealing, earthy way and there is absolutely no bitterness or aftertaste. There are delicious moments each day with Blend 97! Not only does the 97 Blend taste wonderful, I noticed significant health and lifestyle benefits in the first week. The 97 Blend increased my clarity, focus, cognitive functioning, and energy levels, as well as sense of calmness and centeredness. I naturally improved my diet, sleep and exercise patterns, including returning to a daily yoga practice after a three year break. With the matcha, I get up earlier to practice mindfulness (matcha ritual included) and continue the day enjoying the moments, people, nature and myself in a more meaningful way. Overall, I am more productive and happy when drinking multiple cups of 97 Blend each day. I look forward to trying the 99 Blend, hard to believe there is something better than this!

While the product does appear to be more vibrant, intense and fresh than other the Matcha tea’s I have tried it is simply too much work. I watched the video, bought a small screen to shift the tea, used a small automatic blender like you recommend and tried numerous times but cannot get the tea to stay fully dissolved. The last few sips are full of gritty, lumpy pieces of the tea. Certainly not worth the extra expense at 4-6 times the price.

It gives you MAD energy, all the while keeping you deeply grounded. Breakaway Matcha is the single greatest health product I have known in my 39 years.

I have now tried blends 94, 97, and 99 and none are ordinary ! This green goodness feels so alive and drinking this deliciousness is something to be shared! Blend 99 is divine! Blend 94 is slightly wilder and grassier , and blend 97 has a little of the edge of 94 and the specialness of 99. Looking forward to trying blend 100 ! Using the tools and ceramics that are offered add to the experience which is nurturing, calming and energizing . I am grateful for my Matcha Moments and the kind service I have always received. Thank you !

Even before the first drop crosses your lips, its light, fresh scent permeates your nose and there begins your wonderful journey. This tea is truly wonderful; so smooth and never bitter. Drinking it is calming yet also energizing for the taste buds. This is my go to daily matcha. It's truly bliss in a cup!

Reading around the site may prompt me to try other blends, but I think I've mostly settled into Blend 97. I like everything about it.
OK, it's not a traditional tea ceremony, but we do the hi(er)-tech version (we got "the works" with our first order) and I feel like we've started our own little ritual.
And the results are always pleasant. I think of it as springy (the season) and grassy. But I'm just a sucker for the stuff. And I always enjoy the color.
(my little guilty pleasure: I enjoy scooping up and tasting the remnant matcha at the end of each cup!)

We have tried drinking green tea over the years for the myriad benefits one reads about doing so, but never got beyond the bitter, acidic flavor of all the kinds we sampled. Then we received this amazing Matcha; what a difference this blend makes. Though we thoroughly enjoy the ritual and aesthetic sensuality involved in this daily beverage, it is the smooth, rich flavor which keeps us wanting more. We could not imagine anything adding to the joy of waking up in Kona, but Eric's Matcha does the trick. Now if only we could grow this tea in Hawaii! Mahalo, Eric!

I love this matcha. It is really smooth and tasty. The process of creating the tea is fun and intriguing to your mesmerized guests! I bought the special kit that comes with a cool little automatic frother and the tools you need to make a perfect cup.

I'll admit it...I'm a fan of ritual. The entire process of warming, scooping, sieving, stirring, foaming even BEFORE tasting speaks to my soul. The flavor of 97 is divine! It has a similar smell, taste, and gorgeousness as a field of warm, sweet, fragrant, spring grass. When I sip I feel all is well in the world.

The COLOR, the smell...FANTASTIC! I have more clear energy, better digestion... I don't know, can a cup of Breakaway Matcha make you happy??? It's one cupful of smooth, happy, yummy bliss. I'm sold.
Love, light and Breakaway Matcha 97!

Breakaway Matcha is a wonderful tea. I love the blend 97, sweet and rich. I also love Eric's passion regarding his products. It's nice to have the simple, finer things in life celebrated.

The taste of this matcha is sweet and smooth, no bitterness at all. But, for me, even better are the calm, relaxed feeling and mental clarity that matcha brings. Making matcha part of my daily routine has definitely made a difference for me.

I use to sweeten my matcha green tea until I tried Breakaway Matcha's Blend 97. I tried matchas from gourmet grocery stores, but they were super bitter and clumpy. I started ordering matcha from Japan which was better, but I still felt the need to sweeten it to soften the bitter taste. Breakaway Matcha is smooth and naturally sweet. No bitter taste; no need for sweetener! It is comforting and delicious. The perfect cup of matcha green tea!

Blend 97 is what I love so much about Breakaway Matcha: zero bitterness, and an earthy flavor that store-bought bagged green tea can't touch. Love it!

Out of Breakaway Matcha's three lovelies, this is my personal favorite. It brings a naturally sweet end to thoughtful matcha-making.
